New Delhi: Air charter services provider Deccan Charters, Taj Air  the executive charter service of Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), and Business Jets India Pvt Ltd (BJETS) joined hands to launch Powerfly Charter, which will offer services on demand by leveraging the synergies of the three brands.

Powerfly will commence operations from February 14 and accept bookings with immediate effect, Deccan Charters Chairman and Managing Director G R Gopinath said.

To begin with, the service will be available across the country but the alliance is expecting to go international by tying up with charter services in Middle East, Europe and Singapore and is targeted at corporate and leisure travelers. The alliance has aircraft based in around 10 locations in the country.

“The services would be offered to people at anything between Rs 70,000 to Rs 3 lakh per flying hour,” said Captain G R Gopinath, chairman and managing director, Deccan Charters Ltd. Gopinath said that the alliance ‘Power Fly’ would also allow people to own part of the aircraft by selling them flying hours.

Deccan is also involved in providing maintenance, repair and overhaul services to 50 aircraft, Gopinath said. Taj Air also provides charter services while the Tata Group has also invested in Business Jets Private Limited (BJETS) through its subsidiary Indian Hotels Company Ltd.
