Earthquake of 6.4 Richter scale hits Assam Kolkata and North East states

India: An earth quake of 6.4 Richter scale hit the north Eastern India today at around 8:23 PM at epicentre but there have been no immediate reports of damage and casualties till now as per report of the sources.

As per report of US seismologists, the quake was of 6.4 magnitudes and the location of its epicentre was 24.616°N, 94.740°E. They also claimed that the depth of the quake was 88.8 km and mostly the regions of Myanmar-India border were affected by the tremor.

Sources have also claimed that the quake was centred 50 miles east-southeast of Imphal, not far from the border with Myanmar, and 425 miles from Kolkata

There was no immediate report of any casualty from anywhere in the North East. Minor tremors are still recorded on Richter scale but are not felt by humans. There was no immediate report of any casualty from anywhere in the North East.
