Florida: A helicopter made an emergency landing early Tuesday morning. It happened around 6:10 a.m. on SR 50 near Taylor Creek Road.

The Florida Highway Patrol says Trooper Dulin was patrolling when he saw a 2006 Robison R44 Raven helicopter with two people on board attempting to land on the side of SR 50, south of Christmas School Road.

The pilot, identified as 40 year old Mark Roberts of Hillsboro Beach, Florida, told the trooper he was traveling from the Ft. Lauderdale area to Kissimmee for the War Bird Show, when he was forced to land due to poor visibility.

Roberts was able to safely land on the side of the road in front of the Church of God. At 9:25 am, troopers briefly shut down SR 50 so that the pilot could take off.

No one was injured.
