ShinmoeDake volcano resumed in Japan

Tokyo: Weather agency of Japan said that a volcano has resumed in southern Japan with eruptions of ash and rocks.

On Sunday, a warning issued by the Meteorological Agency that the ShinmoeDake volcano started shooting out stones, gas and ash after a some week of inactivity.

A mountain is on the other side of Japan from the epicentre of Friday's magnitude 8.9 earthquake and resulting tsunami that struck the country's north. It is not clear, if the eruptions were linked to the earthquake or not.
