US: A flight had an emergency landing at Reagan National Airport on Friday morning due to a false alarm. US Airways flight 3116 from Manchester was descending into the airport when a flight attendant reported to the captain "an electrical smell," said Michelle Mohr, spokeswoman for US Airways. Out of caution, they radioed for an emergency landing, but no passengers braced themselves or anything like that.

There was no smoke on the plane. The ERJ-175 jet landed at the airport without any problems. The airport fire department checked out the craft and found nothing amiss. There were 60 passengers and four crew members (two pilots, two flight attendants) on board the 86 seat craft.
