America: U.S. warned of travel on Mexican buses because raids on Mexican buses by criminals have led to kidnapping of one American, the U.S. consulate said in a message warning due to the dangers of bus travel in Matamoros, Mexico.

The border city Matamoros from Brownsville, Texas is one of the most violent in Mexico, it sits in Tamaulipas.

The consulate issued a message warning of potential threat of traveling on buses on the hightways. The buses are increasingly being targeted by armed individuals for kidnapping and robbery.
